Have you ever wanted to design something? Maybe you’re having difficulty coming up with an idea? Or perhaps you have ideas and don’t know what to do with them. Well I’ve got a method you can try and it only requires two things. Well, maybe three but you already own one of them. They are a sketchbook, pen and your brain!
You might be saying I already have those things I just can’t think. I know, it’s not easy. People have created spaces dedicated to help them just think. These spaces are filled with inspiration. Themed rooms to help narrow an ideas.
Well we can’t all have these spaces but we can have spaces to draw in. Particularly a space within a sketchbook. And we can return to these drawings and build upon them.
What am I talking about. I’m talking about a method called revision. Taking a second look at something. Coming back to a piece and viewing it again.
Sometimes a doodle doesn’t look appealing. You draw this thing and it doesn’t look like anything so you move on to something else. But I say revise and do it with a clear perspective. Come back to it a day or even an hour later. See how a few adjoined circles can actually be a piece of a pattern or a box with a slight wobbly line look like a nose of a soon to be face.
You can start now if you already have some doodles or you can get yourself a sketchbook and pen to begin fresh.
There have been several times things that made it to print with PrintMeVinyl have been revisions I’ve further developed. Ideas I turned into vinyl because I saw something else from something I previously created.
You can also do this digitally if you prefer a tablet but flipping through pages is alittle easier because you can quickly look at several drawings.
So give it a try and leave a comment. Let me know if it works or if you have a method of your own you’d like to share.
PrintMeVinyl isn’t responsible if you create something amazing. PrintMeVinyl reserves the rights to providing you with inspiration so get to it and have fun.
